Music lessons from a professional composer.

Pete is a professional composer with feature film credits and over 20 years scoring for global brands including Samsung, Nike and Hugo Boss. He now offers one-to-one lessons in guitar, bass, piano, composing and songwriting — in-person near Norwich Cathedral and online UK-wide.

Learn music from someone who actually does it.

Most music teachers teach. Pete composes for a living — which means every lesson draws on real experience of making music professionally.

Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or writing your own songs, lessons are built around you and what you want to achieve.

His work has soundtracked commercials, TV & film, reaching audiences worldwide. He has also appeared on BBC One's The Apprentice as a music industry judge, assessing candidates on a songwriting task.

Pete was super prompt in replying and took the time to listen to Niamh's recent single, offering her encouragement and real industry insight. As she embarks on a music production career, there's no doubt she'll be coming back for more. So glad I made that initial contact.

Frequently asked questions

Do you teach ABRSM grades?

My lessons aren't exam-based — the focus is on creativity, real musicianship and finding your own voice. If grades matter to you, just get in touch and we can chat.

What age do you teach from?

From age 11 upwards. Composing and industry mentorship is better suited to students aged 14+ and 16+ respectively.

Do I need my own instrument?

For guitar and bass, ideally yes — though I have instruments available if needed. For keys, composing and songwriting, everything is provided including an iMac Pro, Logic Pro, professional MIDI keyboard and studio monitors.

How do online lessons work?

Via Zoom or FaceTime — all you need is a decent connection. Works well for all subjects, especially composing, songwriting and mentorship.

How do I pay?

Bank transfer or cash, on or before the day of your lesson. Block bookings of 6 can be paid in advance and save you one full lesson.

What's your cancellation policy?

48 hours notice where possible. Life happens — I'm always happy to be flexible, but repeated last-minute cancellations may be charged at the full rate.

Are you insured?

Yes — fully covered through the Musicians' Union.
